extremegreen may be more expensive sheet for sheet than lesser quality building materials such as plywood, OSB and drywall, but when you consider the installed, or assembled cost of extremegreen fire-resistant assemblies and flooring systems and the maintenance free increased building lifespan, your investment in extremegreen more often than not puts you way ahead of the competition.
In addition to the superior quality of extremegreen, it should be noted that Tax Credits are available on building materials, but not on labor. It therefore makes sense to use extremegreen material and invest in a quality build, for which tax credit are available and reduce your expenditure on labor, for which Tax Credits are not available.
extremegreen is inorganic and has no toxic inputs. Furthermore, it does not off-gas. It contains no formaldehyde, fly ash or crystalline silica – ingredients/inputs found in plywood, OSB, fiber cement and gypsum based building materials.
extremegreen employs a low energy manufacturing process, as much as 50% less than competing building products and actually absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere during its exothermic curing process.
Magnesium Oxide (MgO): or Magnesia is a naturally occurring non-toxic inorganic mineral. This is fired and crushed to a talcum powder like consistently and mixed into a Magnesium Chloride solution.
Magnesium Chloride (MgCl2): Is mixed into an aqueous solution, to which Magnesium Oxide dust is added and mixed into a cementitious slurry.
Perlite (PO4): Is a form of Obsidian characterized by spherulites from by the cracking of volcanic glass during cooling. It is used widely as insulation and added to extremegreen to boost its resistance to fire.
Glass Fiber Mesh: A specially developed proprietary mesh design, is woven through extremegreen, giving it its unique high-performance structural properties.
Recycled Wood Fibers: Are ground and mixed into the slurry to act as a binding agent to assist with the general performance of the product. They are completely saturated in the slurry, thus rendering them inorganic.
